Jacqueline Cooper, Executive Director of Autobody Fine Art, 1517 Park Street in Alameda, was recently appointed Photography and Video coordinator for the annual Alameda County Fair. Held at the Pleasanton Fairgrounds from June 23rd to July 11th of this year, the Alameda County Fair features competitive exhibitions of all types, ranging from livestock to Fine Art. Jacqueline Cooper will be administering the Fine Art Photography and Video competitions and is hoping to increase the number of entries for 2010. The Video category is a newly added exhibit and the Alameda County Fair is proud to be a pioneer in this field.

With over fifteen years of experience in curating exhibitions and owning and operating gallery spaces, Jacqueline Cooper is looking forward to expanding the base of artists who enter the competitions each year and is particularly focused on inviting artists from the Island of Alameda. Every year the Fine Art competition features a plein aire painting section and Ms. Cooper hopes to attract the many, wonderful artists that take on the challenge of plein aire painting through the Frank Bette Center’s annual competition.

Jacqueline Cooper is the Executive Director of Autobody Fine Art Inc. the only contemporary art gallery on the island of Alameda, and as such is committed to promoting work across all media. Her new role at the Alameda County Fair will enable her to perform outreach to artists who might not have thought of entering a Fair competition before, or may not have know about the opportunity. Ms. Cooper believes the Fair is the perfect place to reconnect with the creative spirit that drives artistic practice and to show artwork to a very diverse audience. The theme of this years competitive exhibits is “Have a Grape Time,: and the Fair will be celebrating the viticulture of Alameda County and all things grape related.
